Miss Kimberley Williamson – Year 1
I am the Year 1 teacher and I also share the Science lead responsibilities.
Hello, I am Miss Williamson. I qualified from the University of Chester in Primary Education with Early Years in 2017. Throughout my time at university I completed placements in mainstream schools in Helsby, Wales, Northwich, Chester and the Wirral teaching from Reception to Year 2. I have also completed a placement in a behaviour management school in Manchester for children aged 8-18. After graduating university, I went on to complete my NQT year in a school in Winsford teaching Year 1 which I thoroughly enjoyed. I am so happy to be joining a wonderful team here at Lower Peover and teaching such fantastic children.
Why I Teach
During my Year 10 work experience, I had the opportunity to take a child aside to help him with a, particularly difficult math concept that he was having trouble understanding. When I was able to show him a different way to approach the problem, and he ‘got it,’ I knew that I wanted to fulfil my dream in becoming a teacher. I love making a child’s learning as fun and engaging as possible. Hearing a chid say ‘This is so fun!’ during a lesson you planned is extremely rewarding and watching them develop and grow throughout the year puts the biggest smile on my face.
Spending as much time as possible with my family and friends.
Taking my beautiful Border Collie on long walks.
Travelling to new places and visiting family in Canada.
Cooking and eating out in different restaurants
I enjoy keeping myself fit through going to the gym, walking and running.
Something you don’t know about me!
I have taken part in several Race for Life events to raise money for Cancer Research, a charity very dear to my heart. Throughout my time doing the events I have raised over £2000.
