Vision and Values
As a Church school we have a distinctive character where Christian values are promoted in all aspects of school life. We encourage all members of the school community to promote a Christian ethos where care and respect is shown to everyone. As a Church school there are strong links with the Parish Church of St Oswald’s. where Rev. Dr. Jane Lloyd is the incumbent.
The school vision and Christian values are taught to the children and are explicitly evident throughout the whole creative curriculum and life of the school.
Kindness and compassion are underpinned as children are created in the image of God. Valuing all God’s children report and the vision for education summary ensure the importance of wisdom, hope, dignity and community within our school. The spiritual and emotional needs of our children are met.
The strong links we have with the Church community and the Diocese are like ‘salt and light’, where we have transformed and changed with our Christian family with the Lord by our side. Pupils develop aspiration and resilience as we strive for excellence in everything we do.
Guided by Jesus’ teaching in the parable of the prodigal son (God desires to bring in those who are lost (who have sinned) in to a relationship with Him). He rejoices when they repent, in line with our behaviour policy
Our school vision is:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord” – Colossians 3:23
With the Lord by our side, we strive for excellence in everything we do; aiming to achieve highly within our spiritual community. Working together under God’s guidance, we endeavour to become the best that we can be in our school, where the Christian faith is taught, experienced and lived.
Our Values are:
