Year 2 2026 - 2027

Hello everyone, and welcome to our lovely Year 2 class!

My name is Miss Harper, and I’m delighted to begin our journey together this September. It was a pleasure meeting you all during our transition mornings, and I already know we’re going to have a fantastic time in Year 2.

Alongside our usual lessons in English, Maths and Science, we’ll be exploring some exciting topics throughout the year, including:

The United Kingdom, Seas, and Capital Cities
The Great Fire of London
Our World
Inspirational People

Children will take part in PE on Tuesdays and Fridays with me, so please ensure they come to school dressed in their PE kits on both days. Music lessons will be delivered by Mr Stannard every Wednesday. Mrs Hagger will also continue to support our class.

What a wonderful year we have ahead of us! I am very much looking forward to working with your children and getting to know them. I hope you all have a lovely summer break, and I look forward to welcoming everyone back in September.

General Class Information 

• P.E: Please make sure you come to school in your P.E kit on Tuesday & Friday for our lessons. Please ensure all kit is named and follows school policy.
• Drinks: Please make sure you child has a water bottle for drinking during the day. Water bottles must only contain water - no juice or fizzy drinks are permitted
• Snacks: One healthy snack a day with a treat permitted on Friday only.
• Coats: Please ensure your child brings a coat into school (labelled)
• Forest School Activities: If it is your turn to visit the wooded area on the school grounds, please make sure you are dressed appropriately – arms and legs covered.
