Wrap Around Care
Firstly, I would like to welcome you all to Premier Education and our Wraparound Club at Lower Peover Primary School. Internally our wraparound care is known as 'Night Owls'
My name is Sally Gray and I am married with 2 children. I relocated back to Cheshire in July 2021 after spending 12 years working in the UAE at an international school as a KG class teacher.
Before moving to the UAE, I had worked in several Pre-Schools and Nurseries in the UK. I am qualified in Early Years Care and Education and have 20 years’ experience working with children.
I took a very exciting career move and joined Premier Education in August 2021 as the manager of our new wraparound club at Lower Peover Primary School.
Working alongside me in the afternoon is Sarah. The children are all very familiar with Sarah as she also works in the school during the day and has experience working in the previous kids club.
Also on my team I have Will, Matt and Meg. They have all been working for Premier Education for a number of years teaching a wide variety of sports to children across different schools.
We are offering an Ofsted registered wraparound care before and after school and it is available to all ages from reception to year 6. The morning sessions run from 7:30am until 8:30am and we have a maximum capacity of 15 children. During this time the children are offered a healthy breakfast. They have a choice of cereals, toast or fresh fruit. We also have a variety of learning activities set up for the children to choose from and we go outside for at least 10 minutes in the morning to allow the children time for physical activities before dropping them to class at 8:30am.
The afternoon sessions we collect the children directly from their classrooms at home time and bring them to the wraparound club. We offer two different pick up times, so you can select the time that suits you best when booking, either 4:30pm or 6pm. We do have a maximum capacity of 30 children so I recommend you book early to avoid disappointment, as our afternoon sessions are filling up quickly.
If you have a child booked in with us, whilst their sibling is doing another after school club, we will ensure they are on the front loop with their sibling for collection. For all other collections, please park near the Church and use the side entrance/exit, wraparound care, door (black door to the right as looking at the school).
At the start of the session the children have time for free play, then they can decide what they would like to do with their friends. We have different learning areas set up around the room for them to explore such as a role play area, maths activities, construction area, arts and crafts, and a quiet corner with books.
We also offer a healthy afternoon snack which changes daily and is on a 2 weekly menu rotation. We offer two choices every day, for example ham or cheese sandwiches, rice cakes or breadsticks, chicken and cheese panini. Fruit is always available along with water and juice to drink.
We will take the children outside daily weather permitting and they again have a choice of activities - parachute games, football, tennis, dodgeball, skipping, treasure hunt, or free playtime if they prefer.
My aim is to make sure everyone is happy and enjoying themselves whilst at wraparound club. It has been my pleasure to welcome so many children and their parents to our wraparound club and I look forward to welcoming more new children in the coming weeks.
