Year 3 2026 - 2027

Hello everyone & welcome to Year 3!

My name is Miss Sheard, and I am delighted to be your Year 3 teacher. We have a fantastic year ahead, full of exciting learning, new experiences and plenty of opportunities to challenge ourselves and have fun along the way.

Alongside our core subjects of English, Maths, Science and RE, we will be exploring some fascinating topics throughout the year. We will travel back in time to discover what life was like in the Stone Age before learning about Ancient Civilisations, including the Ancient Egyptians. We will also investigate Rivers and Mountains, where we will take part in some exciting river fieldwork to bring our learning to life. Please look at our curriculum overviews for more information about everything we will be learning this year.

We will continue to have our specialist sports coach from Sports Coaching Group for PE on a Monday, with a second PE lesson on Thursday, so children should come to school wearing their PE kits on both days.

Both Mr Stannard will be teaching Music and Madame Carter will teach French on a Thursday.

General Class Information 

• P.E: Please make sure you come to school in your P.E kit on Mondays & Thursdays for our lessons. Please ensure all kit is named and follows school policy.
• Drinks: Please make sure you child has a water bottle for drinking during the day. Water bottles must only contain water - no juice or fizzy drinks are permitted
• Snacks: One healthy snack a day with a treat permitted on Friday only.
• Coats: Please ensure your child brings a coat into school (labelled)
• Forest School Activities: If it is your turn to visit the wooded area on the school grounds, please make sure you are dressed appropriately – arms and legs covered.
