“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord”

Weekly Newsletter - Friday 11th October 2019

The Year 6 children are excited to be travelling to Shropshire, next week, to take part in their 5-day residential trip. If you wish, the children can arrive in school on Monday by 11am at the latest.  There are many activities planned to develop teamwork. Thank you to Mr. Haslam, Mrs. Adams, and Mrs. Lamb for escorting the children. You can follow a sample of the activities on our school Facebook page.

Year 5/6 Football

On Wednesday evening, we played against other local schools in the annual Year 5/6 football competition at Holmes Chapel Primary School. The team all worked so hard and showed great sportsmanship. They drew three of their games and narrowly lost to the team that went on to win the competition. The next event is Tag Rugby on October 22nd.

St. Oswald’s Church Service

St Oswald's Harvest Festival is taking place on Sunday 13th October with a family service at 11am. Children are invited to bring gifts of foodstuffs to be donated to the Salvation Army along with harvest produce. Do come and support this rural celebration at our church.

FLPS

Spooky Disco

The Spooky Discos will take place on Monday 21 October after school. Spooky costumes are optional but please remember that reception children will be going to the KS1 disco so please do not make the costumes too scary. Tickets are now available on ParentPay. The KS1 disco will be straight after school until 5pm. The KS2 disco will be 5.30pm-7pm. Tickets are £5 each and include a hotdog, krispie cake and a drink. Thank you so much for all the offers of help for the discos - your support is really appreciated. We now have enough helps for KS1 and enough cake makers but if anyone else is able to help for KS2 please let Hannah Burgoyne know. We will be in touch with all the helpers prior to the event with more details. Just as a reminder for any cake makers - we are a nut free school so the cakes must not contain any nuts or traces of nuts. Please let Hannah Burgoyne know of any dietary requirements. Any queries can be sent to the FLPS committee at FLPScommittee@gmail.com

Autumn Ball

Dietary Requirements

We would really appreciate anyone that has bought tickets for the ball letting us know any dietary requirements and the name of each guest you have booked tickets for.

Sponsorship

Thank you to everyone who has donated raffle prizes. It really is appreciated. We are also looking for table sponsorship. This costs £100 and for that any sponsors will receive a half page advert in the brochure given to all ticketholders, a table named after them and a week’s worth of advertising on the Lower Peover Mums Facebook page. If you know any companies who would be willing to sponsor a table please contact a member of the FLPS committee.

Easyfundraising

Just a reminder that FLPS is listed as a Good Cause on the easyfundraising website . This is a fantastic way to raise money for the school without it costing you a penny. Simply log on to www.easyfundraising.org.uk and create an account, nominating FLPS as your chosen Good Cause. After you have created an account you will be able to shop online at many big retailers such as John Lewis, Sainsburys, Amazon and Marks & Spencer and each time you make a purchase the retailer will make a donation to FLPS. It is also possible to download the easyfundraising app to make the process even easier

Prayers

We bless you, God of Seed and Harvest, and we bless each other,
That the beauty of this world, and the love that created it,
Might be expressed though our lives
And be a blessing to others,
Now and always. Amen
