Weekly Newsletter - Friday 24th May 2019
The Year 6 children have had an amazing time in London. What a celebration for the end of SATS! Mr. Haslam has reported that the Year 6 company has been a delight and the children’s behaviour has been impeccable. The staff are now ready for their half term break! It was amazing to hear Freya talking to Chris Evans, on the radio. Well done, Year 6!
Sports day was, yet again, a brilliant day for all involved. Well done to the Yellow Team, Malala, on being the winning team. Red Team (Rowling) came 2nd, Blue Team (Daley) 3rd and Green Team (Peake) 4th.
All the children who turned up gave their all in the events and did a fantastic job. It was great to see everyone in high spirits and being great team players. We are all proud of everyone taking part today, trying their best, pushing themselves out of their comfort zone and for having smiles on their faces while doing it.
Personally, we thought the new format went down really well. The children certainly enjoyed the introduction of different events, which allowed for variation in scoring team points. Thank you to all the parents for attending and supporting. It adds to the sporting atmosphere, which makes the day even better.
Well done, Team Lower Peover!
Chester Zoo Trip
On Tuesday 4th June the whole school are venturing to Chester Zoo as part of our summer project. Please could the children have their packed lunches, caps, sun screen, and extra drinks in a small back pack. Thank you! We are very excited about this project.
It always makes us smile when parents call to inform us of sickness, when the child has already told us they are going on holiday. If we are in any doubt regarding sickness and have reason to believe the child is on holiday, then these absences will be recorded as unauthorised.
Staffing for September 2019
It’s that time of the year when I am asked about classes for the following academic year. I am pleased to confirm the following teaching staff arrangements for next year are as follows:
Reception: Mrs. Perry
Year 1: Miss Williamson
Year 2: Mr. Young
Year 3: Mrs. Maddock

Mrs. Turner has been successful in securing a place at Kelsall Teaching Alliance for teacher training, from September 2019. Congratulations! I will be advertising this position after the holidays.
Mr. Jay Stannard will be delivering our music curriculum and Madame Whitworth will continue to teach French and German.
Sport Provision – from September 2019
Following a review of our PE/Activities in our school, Governors have taken a decision to switch providers to Premier Education. This decision was taken with a view of enhancing current provision and to expand activities beyond that which we currently offer, with the hope of ensuring the physical and mental wellbeing of your children maintains a positive trajectory throughout their education.
Governors felt that ensuring participation and enrichment for all pupils would be best addressed in this manner and will actually allow teacher-led provision in areas other than sport, for the additional days not covered, by running some after-school clubs free of charge.
I would take this opportunity to thank Coach Dave for all of his work and support over his tenure at Lower Peover on both a professional and personal level. I am sure you will all join with me in expressing our gratitude for the impact he has had not just on PE/Sport in school but actually with supporting pupils to ensure they engaged. Good luck in your future endeavours. James Forshaw ( Chair of Governors)
The Summer Fair will take place on Saturday 22 June from 1pm until 3.30pm. The event will be here before we know it. Thank you to everyone who has signed up to support so far. Please help to make the Fair as successful as we can by signing up to the volunteer list at volunteersignup.org/BJFEJ
Mr B’s Bingo
Thank you to everyone who supported Mr B’s bingo last week. Thank you to everyone who made cakes or helped on the night and a huge thank you to Mr B for hosting the bingo. Thank you to all the children who attended the event - we hope they had a fantastic time. We don’t have final figures yet but it looks like the event raised approximately £400 which is a fantastic result.
Are there any more wellies/ pots being entered for the competition?
The children of Lower Peover have been invited to join in a competition to fill a wellie or fill a pot, or any suitable container with flowers to line the church footpath. Please could your entries be in school by Wednesday 3rd July. There will be a prize for one child in each class. We are looking forward to receiving your wonderful creations.
Please could you email email@example.com if you would like to enter the competition, so we have a record of how many wellies/pots etc to expect. Thank you!
